Struggling to Choose from Horse Riding Schools in Sussex?

Have you ever wanted to ride a horse? Have you ridden before and would love to rediscover your passion for horses? Are you a complete novice or an elderly person who is looking for a special needs riding school in the Sussex area? Would you like to take part in disabled riding lessons in a manner that’s controlled, calm and dignified?

If you can answer ‘YES’ to any of these questions, Sandra’s Riding School would love to hear from you. We are based in Horley and many of our pupils visit us from the nearby Sussex area. We're one of the most flexible and adaptable horse riding schools in the South East of England and also one of the very few to cater for just about everybody.

While we have a deserved reputation for being one of the leading disabled horse riding schools to cover the Sussex area, our aim is to make the riding experience enjoyable for newcomers, improvers and seniors too. We’re even here to help the nervous rider!

  • Disabled riding lessons take place in specially adapted carriages
  • Our carriages can accommodate wheelchairs
  • Arriving from Sussex? We’ll meet you with a carriage in our car park
  • We’ll help transfer you from your vehicle to the carriage with dignity and respect
  • Our disabled horse riding school has friendly ride and drive ponies

What to Expect at our Special Needs Riding School

Some horse riding schools in Sussex expect even the most novice of riders to get straight into a saddle. We’ll never push you into anything you don’t want to do until you’re completely ready. Sandra’s Riding School even lets nervous newcomers ride in our carriages so that they can get a feel for horses and ponies at their own pace.

As soon as you feel comfortable to progress, we’ll put you into our sand school and get you familiar with the horse, the saddle and the basic riding technique. Our role here is to build confidence so that you can ultimately join an accompanied hack through the nearby countryside. Much like Sussex, Surrey is a wonder to behold in the summer.

Being a special needs riding school is what makes us special and this is why our instructors are always calm, patient and relaxed. Our traditional and disabled horse riding school welcomes all persons of all ages and of all abilities without prejudice. That’s what sets us apart from all other horse riding schools in the Surrey and Sussex areas.
